Tom King / CEO Bighorn Outdoors / Founder Bighorn Outdoors Youth Adventure Program

I was born and raised in the big city of Columbus Ohio. Hunting was not an option or an activity that us city kids could enjoy. I don't remember who gave me my first fiberglass, kids longbow but I do remember who introduced me to shooting bows and guns. It was my gym teacher Mr. Wooten. I was in middle school so I must have been 12 years old. A lot has changed since then. Some how Mr. Wooten was allowed to teach us to shoot a 44 Mag with rubber bullets in the gymnasium, try getting that approved these days.
I grew up in a single parent home and never got to spend time with my dad until I was about 12 years old. Thats when my desire to hunt and fish really got started. My dad and uncles would take us on hunting, fishing and camping trips that to this day I remember like it was yesterday. My dad died in a truck wreck when I was 13 years old. Talk about a lost sole, I was about as out of control as a teenager could get. I did not shoot a gun or bow for the next 3 or 4 years. Thanks to some friends of mine, Jimmy Raver, Bubba Bower and their dads I once again got introduced to the outdoors. If it was'nt for that curve in the road, it's hard to say exactly what would have became of me.
I would like to share my knowledge of the outdoors and my passion for hunting with as many young people as possible. All of Team Bighorn feel the same way. We know we cant influence or change every childs life. Through our Bighorn Outdoors Youth Adventure camps, we can teach respect for nature, firearms and respect for each other. Its amazing what you can accomplish with a weekend a group of great people and a bunch of knowledge hungry kids. Please join us in our quest to introduce as many young people and new combers to a sport that teaches patients, discipline, respect, woodsmanship, sportsmanship and so much more.
